Examination and chiropractic care

Every treatment starts with an examination. What Stein finds guides whether — and how — he treats.

A systematic examination

Alongside the usual orthopaedic and neurological checks, Stein uses a muscle-strength assessment that draws on established neurological examination principles and that he has adapted through his own clinical practice.

Examination findings inform his clinical assessment. No single test can identify the cause of every pain, and results of treatment cannot be guaranteed.

Common complaints

Back pain

Lower and mid-back pain, stiffness and pain on movement.

Neck pain

Neck stiffness and pain, often related to posture or strain.

Sciatica-like symptoms

Pain radiating into the buttock or leg. Assessment helps decide whether chiropractic care is suitable.

Pelvic pain

Pain around the pelvis and sacroiliac joints.

Headaches

Some headaches are related to the neck and muscles; others need medical assessment.

Radiating and arm pain

Pain or discomfort spreading from the neck into the shoulder or arm.

Numbness or tingling

Examined carefully; may need referral depending on findings.

Not every symptom comes from the spine. If another cause is more likely, Stein will tell you.
